My first burl that I harvested, was from a oak. Now, I am not sure about what this is: a burl, a knot or a common wound that the tree has, and he tried to heal.
In my early tentatives to carve a kuksa from it, I was frightened by a ... crack that occured from the wood, and for wich, I abandoned the piece of wood unfinished for more than a year. Yesterday, I found this piece and, in order to inaugurate my new shop with a fast and easy work, I decided to give it a second chance, and finish it.
Besides the big crack that was repaired, and some marks of too strong strikes of the chisel, it turned in to a nice piece.
